• Prof. Carrano & Shady just returned from a research trip to Scotland over the summer.  Both worked on microbiological techniques related to the toxic phytoplankton project.  In the course of the trip, Prof. Carrano went diving for sharks along with our collaborator Dr. Kuepper.

  • Ba Tran has finished his M.S. this summer and went off to continue his PhD at Indiana University.  Best of luck, Ba.

  • Martina Strittmatter has left our lab to start her PhD project with our collaborator Dr. Frithjof Küpper in the Scottish Association for Marine Science.  We all miss you Martina.

  • The group is welcoming a visiting student, Martina Strittmatter, from Germany and who is starting her PhD with our collaborator, Frithjof Küpper in the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) this year.  She will be in San Diego for 6 months.

  • Carl has just sailed on the Star of India in its annual trip.  The event took place on 11/11-11/12/2006.  Below are some cool pictures.
